This couple is so down to earth. They embody why I love photographing weddings. They are so in love that it gives you hope. If two people can be THAT in love with each other anything is possible. Anthony looks at her with pride and Brandi lights up whenever he enters the room. Couple made in fairy tale heaven. It was an honor and absolute pleasure to be a part of their specialist of days.

Kristen is a fellow photographer based in Arkansas. She is insanely talented. Needless to say, it was a complete honor to be asked to photograph her elopement. Her and Jake were so sweet. Their vows were full of laughs and tears.
They were so much fun and a breeze to photograph.

This shoot was important to me on so many levels.
Here's a little back story.
I grew up on the Central Coast of California in a tiny little town called Arroyo Grande. When my husband and I got pregnant with our first child we decided it was too expensive and moved to Arizona. When my husband got laid off in Arizona we moved to Las Vegas, NV. His dad lived there and helped us get back on our feet. Then my husband realized work was hard to come by and joined the United States Navy. Right after he enlisted we found out we were pregnant again and I moved back to CA to live with my parents while he went to boot camp and A school. While he was in bootcamp my step mom took a job in Las Vegas and so back to Las Vegas we went. We told ourselves it would be temporary. Just until we could move home to CA.
Fast forward 8 years and there we were still in Las Vegas. Now Las Vegas is no where near the worst place you could live but having grown up in 70 degree weather near the ocean our whole lives you can imagine why that never felt like home.
By this time we had also had our third child. Moving home to CA was extremely risky given the cost of living. We decided it was worth the risk and long story short after less than a month of putting it out in the universe here we are. Living in Grover Beach and spending almost every evening watching the sunset over the pacific ocean.
On top of that I am now starting from scratch with my photography business.
One might think I was crazy to move when my business was finally taking off in Las Vegas. But, I trust that with big risk comes bigger reward.
I decided to put out a model call to start building my portfolio and getting my name out on the central coast. This lovely couple answered that call.
Meet Scarlett + Jonathan.
I'm so glad THEY were my first couple to photograph on the central coast. Crazy thing is she lives in Alabama and he lives in Arkansas.

I had the best time climbing rocks, running on the beach and laughing my ass off with these two.

Brandi + Anthony
This was kind of an engagement session/ styled wedding session. Brandi borrowed this gorgeous "wedding" dress from a friend who wore it to prom. PROM? Can you even? I wish I had a dress half this gorgeous for prom. I wore some pink sequiny mess. But, I digress.
This was such a fun session. These two were up for anything. They laughed and played. Their love is everything you hope love would be. Silly, tender and REAL.

I don't even know where to begin. This couple travelled all the way from Liverpool to elope in Las Vegas and tour the USA. They were an absolute pleasure to work with. Their family and friends, who joined them for their Vegas Elopement, were so much fun!!! Everyone was laughing the entire evening! This one is a love for the ages.

"So we met in a cocktail bar we both worked at on the weekends, Michael didn't speak to me for months when I first started, he says he was shy, I thought he hated me. Through time I forced him to talk to me and we became really good friends, we hung out all the time and soon an amazing friendship blossomed into something more.
Our favourite thing about each other is the fun we have together. Michael makes me laugh like no one else. We are best friends first and foremost.
Our road trip was planned over a year ago, it would be a trip of a lifetime and we love travelling. When we got engaged in Paris in September 2016 and we both knew we didn't want a big traditional wedding. Vegas was planned as our first stop on our road trip and we both agreed that was were we would get married as a way of starting our epic road trip adventure. We travelled over 4000 miles from Las Vegas to Florida, covered 10 states, stayed in so many hotels, met amazing people and had THE BEST time. We experienced so many things, from an old western town in Tombstone - Arizona, to dancing in a street festival in Beale street- Memphis, going to Dollywood Pigeon Forge -Tennessee to ending up at Wrestlemania in Florida. We did it all and we did it together. It's a story and an experience we will have forever and something we can share with our children in the future."

The Turkall's got married at the M resort here in Las Vegas. The suite was stunning and perfect for their intimate ceremony.
One of my favorite parts of photographing weddings is getting to witness all different types of love stories. These two have a fun love. They laughed constantly and have endless inside jokes with each other. I love couples that like to be silly and have fun together!
When a bride contacts you and you have the same last name you have a sort of instant bond! That's what happened when Evelyn reached out to me about doing a bridal session. The couple got married at the Linq in Las Vegas, NV. One of the coolest parts of being a wedding photographer in Las Vegas is that you get a wide range of weddings. From intimate elopements to luxurious ball room weddings and everything in between.
I enjoyed every minute with this lovely couple even if the bride did have to change her last name. ;)
Katie + Matthew are two of the kindest people I have met. They spent so much of their session laughing together. They are truly such a sweet pair. You can feel how much they love each other and how much fun they have just being together.
I love that Katie + Matthew wanted to do a "first look" and bridal session prior to their wedding day. I love "first look" sessions because couples are free to feel their full depth of emotion when seeing each other for the first time without anyone watching. It makes the moment so much more intimate.
How sweet is this? They brought the letters that they wrote each other while Matthew was on his mission trip.
